Habitat for Humanity Yuba/Sutter is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.

The goal of Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by working in partnership with God's people in need. Habitat for Humanity builds or rehabilitates simple, decent, affordable homes and then sells them to qualified low income families at no profit and with no interest charged. The homes are built using volunteer labor, and donated funds and materials.

How we build is just as important as what we build. Habitat houses are built with a contribution of 500 hours of "sweat equity," labor on the part of the homeowners giving of their time and talents to assist us in our mission. By investing themselves in the building process, homeowners gain self-reliance, self-esteem and new skills. The monthly mortgage payments they make are then reused to build more homes in our community.

A non-profit organization, Habitat for Humanity puts faith into action. We seek to build lives as well as homes. Through the homes we build, hope is restored and lives are changed as the cycle of need is broken. We need your help to make this dream come true!!
